Sharing My “Why”

Carolyn Revell Life Coach

How often do you reflect on how you got to where you are today? What were the catalysts that started it all?

I’ve been reflecting on this myself recently, and I thought I’d share a little more about me, my journey, and my "why." Why did I become a Naturopath? Why Life Coaching? And why am I passionate about helping people overcome Burnout?

As is often the case, my journey began in childhood. I first became interested in healthy eating and lifestyle by observing the different ways my family took care of themselves. I could see which path I wanted to follow and chose to lead by example. My Mum’s commitment to healthy eating set the foundation—so to all the Mums out there, never underestimate the power of being a positive role model with healthy food choices! Her father passed away from bowel cancer when she was just 12. He had been raised on a diet high in bread and lard, and he smoked as an adult. Mum's awareness of how we can influence our health through prevention and self-care really stuck with me as I grew up—and I could see the truth of it right before my eyes.

This passion for health never meant I didn’t love food, though. While I dabbled with different ‘diets,’ I always enjoyed the healthier side of eating. Yet, there were times when I wasn’t sure what was ideal for me. In my late teens and early 20s, I struggled with hormonal imbalances, and when I turned to doctors for help, I was told to wait until I wanted to have children before addressing the issue. (If I had listened to that advice, I would have been 38 by the time I got help!) That’s when I sought out a Naturopath—and I loved it. It all made sense to me. The changes I made to my diet and the results I got from herbal medicine (even learning to appreciate the taste!) were transformative. The holistic approach resonated with me deeply, and I saw great results—so I was sold!

A Career Change

In my 30s, I decided to make a career change and pursue my passion for health. I wanted to help others in the same way I had been helped. I was thrilled when I completed my degree and became a qualified Naturopath. After a few years in practice, I noticed a pattern: Many of my clients who struggled with negative self-images, lacked self-belief, felt anxious, or disconnected—despite achieving better health—still struggled to maintain long-term success. These deeper-held beliefs often got in the way. That’s when I decided to integrate Life Coaching into my practice. I created programs designed to address my key areas of interest: stress, fatigue, and burnout. The impact was amazing—I saw firsthand the difference it made in my clients’ lives.

Today, I offer the Action Takers Program, which combines the power of naturopathy and life coaching to help individuals make lasting changes in both their health and their mindset. This program helps people who feel stuck and overwhelmed to regain their energy, clarity, and confidence to move forward and create a balanced, fulfilling life.

I continue to expand the coaching side of my practice while keeping a focus on healthy eating and natural medicine. My goal is to help others feel energized, gain deep clarity, and cultivate a positive outlook on life.
